The MANAV Foundation Workshop is a fund raising initiative in which handicraft products are made by professional tailors employed by the foundation from raw materials that are donated to them or are procured at concessional rates. These products are then exchanged for monetary donations at various exhibitions in the city. The foundation is looking for volunteers who will man the exhibition stalls, handle fundraising, answer questions and create general awareness about mental illnesses.

A girl student of 17yrs enrolled in the Sangharsh Disability programme has been enrolled at vocational training cum employment center this year. The training center is located at Vikhroli, and she will need to commute daily by local transport (Bus) from Ghatkopar (w). Looking at long term, it important she learns to travel by public transport so she can independently travel on her own to the center. She will need guidance to learn how to travel.

Skills for working with children as part of Sangharsh disability intervention centre:

  • Experience working with children (more preference for those who have worked with special needs children) or volunteered with ngo working in field of disability.
  • Willing to travel by public transport within Mumbai.
  • Patience and caring
  • Good in Hindi
