ConnectFor in collaboration with Seva Charitable Trust will be conducting an event for volunteers to learn to make a pillow. Materials required are Cloth pieces, for stuffing: small cloth pieces/ cotton/ thermocol beads, needle and thread, decorative items like sequence, paints, flowers, beads, etc. Volunteers will be urged to make these products in bulk to donate a significant amount to the NGOs nearby. Before the event, the volunteers will have to Identify NGOs nearby to donate the materials that will be learned during the session.

The COVID19 crisis has affected 32 crore children from having access to education (According to UNESCO Report, March 2020). While private schooling is on the move to virtual classrooms, children on the margin will definitely be left behind without an intervention.

ConnectFor (a non-profit organization) strongly believes that this digital gap needs to be bridged & has identified a way to mobilize this movement to achieve scale. After meticulous evaluation, ConnectFor has partnered with the Udaan India Foundation (a non-profit organization working with children and youth in the field of education) with the aim to initially equip 1000 children with phones and internet connectivity specifically for virtual education.

Maharashtra Seva Sangh is an 80-year-old social organization based in central suburbs of Mumbai. They work in the fields of science and technology, defence awareness and welfare, commerce and entrepreneurship, arts and culture, education, health, women empowerment, etc. Under their Salute India initiative, a forum for connecting civilian society with the defence forces, the organization is hosting Veershakti – a grand exhibition in association with the Indian Army, from 13th to 15th December 2019.

They need volunteers to help with various tasks during their Indian Army Exhibition such as registrations, crowd management, audio-visual setup, assisting visitor batches, logistics, photography, videography, social media, documentation, coordination with core team and other activities. Volunteers will be sensitized for their specific responsibilities prior to the event. The volunteers will have to attend the exhibition in Mulund for at least 8 hours per day on event days and may need to carry their laptop or camera.

Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust is committed to the welfare of people from the most underprivileged strata of society without distinction of caste, creed or colour. Its emphasis is on assisting children and youth who are citizens of tomorrow and the disabled who needs support to help them join mainstream society. As a part of the Mission Million Books initiative, Ratna Nidhi has distributed over 8 lakh books to more than 3500 underprivileged schools and colleges for free. Their work is very simple but has a lasting effect on the children they distribute these books too.

They need a volunteer to interact with orthopaedically disabled persons from different walks of life and give them information about their upcoming mobility camp. The volunteer will have to visit Sassoon Hospital on 3rd and 4th July from 9 am to 2 pm and inform the orthopaedically disabled persons that Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust would be distributing free mobility aids such as the Jaipur Foot, Calipers and prosthetic arms at their mobility camp on 7th July 2019.
