Opportunity Description

Carter Clean Up is a citizen movement and has been active since 24th June, 2021. Mr Harold Fernandes is the gentleman who started this clean up last year during the lockdown and cleans the beach and adjoining mangroves nearly every day. He is our inspiration and reason we founded “Carter Clean Up”. We have our clean up every Saturday from 7:30am - 9:30am. Ek Saath foundation in collaboration with Carter clean up is the NGO partner to Carter Clean Up. In the last 95 weeks, we have so far cleared nearly 45,000+ kgs of marine waste and close to 36,000 kgs of illegal construction debris from the beach and the surrounding mangroves. The BMC H-West ward has been helping us with the management of marine debris and we have partnered with many recycling companies to better manage the waste. Volunteers should be Passionate about the environment and should have the willingness to make a change.
